Chinese-to-English video-game localization and QA for Taipei-based Gamania Digital Entertainment. Projects were primarily large-scale online games, and translated items included everything from character dialogue to fantastical geographical names. Localization and QA require vigilant attention to detail, both in ensuring accuracy and consistency of translations and assisting programmers with software debugging.
Beautifying copy, Chinese-English translation and heavy doses of fact-checking for Taiwan-based, English-language news site Want China Times. I was also part of the team that manages the website's presence on several social networks. While at Want China Times, I learned how to operate in a news environment and was exposed to heaps of information on society, politics and economics in Taiwan and China.

Founded and was Co-Editor of Amplifx, a bi-monthly community-focused magazine in Lansing, Michigan. Helped organize all aspects of the magazine, including writing, editing and selecting content as well as managing funds and personnel. Oversaw the publication of the first two issues in the magazine’s history.
Helped Michigan State University students and faculty members strengthen writing skills through one-on-one writing consultation and presentations given to large classes. Open to all students and faculty, fields covered in consultation encompassed the social and natural sciences, the humanities and more.
